xGraptophytum ‘Amphitryon’

  • Parentage : Graptopetalum amethystinum x Pachyphytum glutinicaule

Description of  a 2 1/2 - 3 years old plant.

* Stem: erect, 5,5 cm high, 0,7 cm in diameter, offsetting at the base, color corky brown/green.
* Rosette: 5 cm high, 9 cm in diameter, rather loose, with 19 leaves.
* Leaves: up to 5,5 cm long, 2 cm wide and 0,9 cm thick, obovate-lanceolate, finely apiculate, flattish to slightly concave ventrally, slightly rounded dorsally, color dull blue green, lighter towards base, glaucous.
* Inflorescence: 2 cincinni for this plant, peduncle 24 – 26 cm long, reddish green; pedicel 5mm long; 7 lower bracts, 1,5 cm long, persistent, color same as leaves; upper bracts shingled, up to 18 mm long and 10 mm wide, oblanceolate-acuminate, sagittate, same color as sepals.
* Sepals: very unequal, united at base for 2 mm, 9 – 12 mm long, 3 -5 mm wide, acuminate,  appressed at and longer than petals, color light dull blue green as leaves, glaucous.
* Petals: 7mm long and 4 mm wide = shorter than sepals! not united at base, slightly curved outside at tips, color reddish pink outside and inside. Big petal appendages.
* Carpel light cream to light greenish, reddish brown at top, style whitish, filaments whitish.
